FAQ’s RuTag Technology Commercialization Programme:

Q.1 What is RuTag?
Rural Technology Action Group (RuTAG): A key initiative of the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, the Rural Technology Action Group (RuTAG) has been conceived as a demand-driven catalyzing mechanism to address the needs of the Indian rural economy through targeted technology interventions and support.
Q.2 What is the objective of this programme?
To address the needs of the rural markets in India as well as African and BIMSTEC nations by identifying, shortlisting, and providing commercialization support to validated RuTAG technologies, with the aim to create positive socio-economic impact till the last mile.
Q.3 Which all technologies can be applied under this programme?
Any technology developed under the seven RuTag Centre’s can apply for commercialization under this programme.
Q.4 Which are the seven RuTag Centre’s?
IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras & IIT Roorkee.
Q.5 How to apply the technology under this programme?
A separate link of form will be sent to all the RuTag centre’s to apply their technologies under this programme.
Q.6 Which is the last date to apply under this programme?
The last date to apply the technologies is 28th June 2020.
Q.7 Will all the technologies be commercialize once applied under this programme?
There will an independent jury who will evaluate the received applications and only the selected technologies will be sent for further processing.
Q.8 How companies will show interest in the available technologies received from RuTag centre’s?
There is a form under the tab Apply on the website through which companies can show their interest in the available technologies.
Q.9 In which all regions the technologies will be proposed for commercialization?
The selected technologies will be proposed for commercialization in India, African & BIMSTEC Nations.
